I'm not dead
Although, between work and home, I feel like I'm about half dead.

I know if something doesn't change soon I'm either going to disappear or completely blow up and shatter everyone's ef'n reality.

I'm leaving for this "wonderful" cross country trip to New Mexico on Sunday. I love New Mexico. It's beautiful. If I had a choice of where to retire and die, it would be there or the south of England. But... I'm going with a opinionated DH and two small kids. They bicker, they pout, they drive me crazy. I loath them right now, and I'm not looking forward to this trip.

Wish me luck. Hopefully, it will turn out better than I feel it will right now.

I plan to post pictures and reports, whee.

We are about to go watch the fire works for the fourth-- and yet again without any real plan aside from what I've recommended which is shit. So let's see how this all pans out.

Yeah.

You have my sympathies.

Remember to keep repeating the mantra:

I love my kids
I love my kids
I love my kids
I love my kids.

You can also try:

Bludgeoning DH with a lumphammer will result in 25 to life
Bludgeoning DH with a lumphammer will result in 25 to life
Bludgeoning DH with a lumphammer will result in 25 to life
Bludgeoning DH with a lumphammer will result in 25 to life

Works for me!

Thanks, I tried these mantra's during last night's fire works and it seemed help... that and a lot of Mommy law. I think they're properly prepared now. :)

Maybe a miracle will happen and everyone will be shocked into silence by the beauty of the New Mexico mountains (are you going into the northern part)? Or you can threaten to put them out by the side of the road and make them walk home! That one worked on my brother and I when we were about that age. For a while, anyway!

Ah, yes, I can hear the song of angels now-- see the rays of sunlight...

I think it's going to be either the majesty of White Sands that really renders them silent, or the fear of me leaving them all deep in the bowels of the earth at Carlsbad caverns. Mwa ha ha ha ha ha!

Of course there's always the fear of aliens abducting them from the UFO museum...

I think as far north as we will get on this trip is Soccoro, where we're going to try to get out to the Very Large Array-- this I'm actually more excited about then anything else we have planned. Yes, I'm a weirdo.

I've been to NM several times, and just love it. Driven though Albuquerque (oooh, only got one letter wrong in that before using spell check, yeah me!) years and years ago, and keep hearing how beautiful it is, but unfortunately I don't think we're going to be able to go up that way.

Just brief tour of the south this time: Roswell, Alamogordo, Socorro, and Carlsbad.

Hey, you're talking to someone who was —><— this close to becoming an astronomer. It would excite me, too. I've never been to Carlsbad Caverns, but I've been to some others, and I love caves. They do get to me a little bit (it's more the complete darkness than claustrophobia), but yeah. Do you ever watch Hot Rocks, by any chance?

Every time I think of Roswell now, I think of those really cute little "grey" aprons the waitresses wore at the Crashdown in Roswell - a show that was actually pretty good for a year...and then lasted for two more. But as teenage shows go, the actors were better than the norm - better than Buffy, IMO.

Thank you.

I've been following stuff as much as possible-- saw that you just got some very interesting implements recently (grin)-- but I've just been crushed with work and personal stuff.

I feel totally cut off from LJ in the last few weeks.

Try and remember that this is your parallel universe which has bubbled around you. 'Turn Left' and remember you're really travelling with Nine in the TARDIS. Good Luck and safe travels!

Yes! My parallel universe! I should have realized that to begin with especially the way everyone has been staring at me! I thought it was just because I was a in a foul mood and yelling at everyone, but now I know it's just because I have an immense June bug on my back!!

Thank you so much!

Ha! Thank you. Everyone's calling it a giant "Time Beetle" and I'm like, "It's an average-sized June bug!"

June bugs are one of nature's incredible debacles. They are clumsy, bang into things, including humans-- and when they do-- they stick!

I am convinced that the person who developed velco got the idea from June bugs.

It's not summer without June bugs crashing into the screen door!

Evidently it was grass burrs, not June bugs, but I think it's probably the same mechanism!
